Food Festivals

I love food festivals and I wish I could attend them all - maybe when I have won fnally the big jackpot I will make it my mission to go all of them. Below are some interesting ones - I might see you at one of them

Galway Food Festival - 6th - 8th April

I don't have much information but click on the link above and you can follow their blog. It's all about Galway

Waterford Festival of Food - 12th - 15th April

This is a wonderful festival in Dungarvan - the whole town is involved and you can sample fabolous food. Several events are spread out over the weekend. Went to the foraging walk last year and learned a lot about free food. Some of the events are free but some need to be pre-paid and booked. The events program hasn't been published yet so bookmark the link above and keep checking. Well worth a visit.

Dublin Bay Prawn Festival - 27th - 29th April

Howth is the place to be this weekend when the humble Dublin Bay Prawn is celebrated. Food trails, food village, talks farmer's market and cooking demonstrations are only a few events to look forward to. Some of the events need to be pre-booked so click on the link above and check it out.

Sligo Food & Culture Festival - 18th - 20th May

Fancy a go at the Irish Stew Competition? If so, then you can't miss this food festival which goes to find the best Irish Stew. But if you prefer - there are cooking demonstrations, food talks and food trails. The Connacht Gold Junior Chef Competition is a highlight not to be missed.

 Burren Slow Food Festival - 18th - 20th May

A clash with the Sligo Food Festival but nevertheless one that should you be on your to-do-list. Organised by Slow Food Clare this annual food festival is growing very year. The main event takes place in the Pavillion, the whole town gets on board and celebrates all things food.

Wexford Food Festival - 25th - 27th May

No updates have been posted yet on the Wexford website but the date has been set for 25th - 27th May. Bookmark the link above and keep updated. Last year saw Catherine Fulvio headlining the festival - so I am looking forward who they have signed this year.

Festival of Food & Fish - 22nd - 24th June

The program has yet to be published but be prepared to have an amazing seaside BBQ, talks, walks, cooking demonstrations and much more...

Hope to see you at the festivals
