Breadmaking Class - All About Yeast
Our second night of the breadmaking class saw some handy work from our baking friends. It was all about yeast and I really hope we were able to show how easy yeast bread can be. We baked a white yeast bread and I showed flavourings (I prebaked a onion & garlic bread) and I had the girls doing the kneading for me. They got a good feel to the dough and especially Wendy wouldn't stop kneading...

We also baked a brown bread which doesn't involve kneading at all and results in a light and delicious bread. Our bread rolls were the final project and I showed the girls how to make a party-wheel (tip, use egg wash to add the seeds on top). The girls took some of the bread home but Mr T got some nice samples when he got home and we enjoyed the fresh bread with some cheese and of course a nice glass of red. A great evening with a great finish. I am already looking forward to our next class which will take place on Thursday 23rd February where we will de-myth the Sourdough - the king of breads. There are still some places available so email me on biasasta@hotmail.com to book the course.

Breadmaking Class - No Yeast Jose
First night of our breadmaking class was a great success. All girls and of all levels of cooking experience. They were all amazed how easy breadmaking can be and how much better bread tastes when it comes out of your own oven. The walnut & honey bread was served with lovely blue cheese from Auvergne and it went down a treat. My version of Soda Bread was the stunner of the night - ready to bake in 5 mins and the seeded bread got a nice applause as well - also done in a few minutes. I hope that the girls are getting down to it now and will send me photos of their own bread. Next week is Yeast Bread Time - still easy but a bit more of handy work needed. So bring your apron along as you will get your hands 'dirty'.

Breadmaking Course
Have you ever wanted to bake your own bread but thought it was too complicated.... Trust me, it's not. It is actually very simple and easy. You can learn it as easy as ABC - especially if you join our breadmaking class. I will show you how to make bread without being a qualified baker and with no gadgets. There is more to bread than yeast bread or soda bread. I will show you how interesting it can be to bake your own bread. Below is the outline of the course - you can book each class individually for €10 each or you can book the entire course for €25:
2nd February -
Bread without yeast (soda bread, but not as you know it, seedy bread - yes no yeast in sight, banana bread)
9th February -
All about Yeast (it is easier than you think and more fun than you can imagine)
23rd February -
Sourdough - The Real Bread (I'll show you how to make sourdough, how to care for it and what to do with it)
You will be given recipes with step-by-step instructions and you can take bread home with you. At the sourdough night, you will also receive a tub of my own sourdough to take home with you.
Email me on biasasta@hotmail.com if you want to book a place. Each night will start at 7pm and will end approx. 9:30 - loaction is between Blarney and Grenagh
